Tricep Exercises for Women:
- SEATED DUMBBELL TRICEP EXTENSIONS 3 x 12
2. NARROW GRIP COMMANDO PUSHUPS + KNEE TUCK 3 x 10 (L + R)
(Ultimate goal is to do regular pushups!)
3. TRICEP KICK BACKS 3 x 12
(Stand on Bosu ball to intensify)
4. DIP WALKS 3 x (10 TO FRONT + 10 BACK)
5. DIPS BETWEEN BENCHES 3 x 12
(Add a weight plate)
6. NARROW GRIP PUSHUPS + MOUNTAIN CLIMBER COMBO 3 x 10
OK, this is without doubt one serious problem area amongst most women that’s why we can’t go without tricep exercises for women! The terminology often used to describe the wobbly, flabby area under the arms includes angel wings, turkey wings, tuck shop lady arms and bye-byes!
If you want muscular, strong and defined arms you should remember that your triceps make up two thirds of the size of your arms. Yes that’s right! Despite many people’s obsession with training the biceps, two thirds of the muscles in your arms are actually the triceps muscles. Therefore, it stands to reason that if you want impressive arms, good triceps exercises are going to be crucial to you achieving your goal. Also keep in mind that it is your triceps and not your biceps muscles which are on view when your arms are relaxed!
If you want to get toned anything (arms, butt, legs, etc.) you need to take a total approach to your training and lose fat off of your entire body. It is only when your fat levels are low enough that your muscle shape and definition will start to show through. If you are trying to tone your arms you cannot just do arm exercises and wait for the muscle definition to start showing through. We all know that you cannot ’spot reduce’ meaning that you cannot lose fat from just one area of your body at a time.
However, it doesn’t take much weight loss to start showing some muscle tone. And, once you get there you want to have some muscle to show off so it is important to add weight training tricep exercises for women into your weight loss program. Having good tricep muscles will shape your arm and make it look leaner and much sexier.
As with all fitness exercises, in order to get better at it we must progressively add more resistance. It is only by doing this that the muscles respond and grow.
So, if you want to tone your triceps you need to make sure that you are adding some sort of intensity to your tricep exercises for women workout each time by adding more weight, more reps, or performing the exercise slower or faster, etc. All these things will keep your muscles guessing and force them to grow so that they adapt to the situation.
